After an unknown cataclysmic event on the US West coast, a devoted father set out on a 2000 mile journey from Chicago to rescue his daughter from Seattle. During the journey an unlikely bond develops between them as they are forced to deal with a collapse in humanity, all desperate to stay alive, still unaware of what has taken place. A desperate man tries to return home to his pregnant fiancée after a mysterious apocalyptic event turns everything to chaos. So there was a lot of suspension of disbelief during the whole movie, but I really lost it when the main character pulls into his parents house in Coeur d'Alene Idaho and they have No guns, and a non all wheel drive car in the garage. Ridiculous. Add to that the fact that the main dad is a military vet, with ONE handgun and only two mags of ammo? The movie was stupid. Don't waste your time. Great start, but completely downhill from there. The ending is the dumbest part. it’s a surprisingly O.K. addition to the genre.
